1. Ask to see a full shoot, not a highlights reel
A curated set of 10 best-of images can hide a lot of inconsistency. Ask to see every photo delivered from one real session — a full product line, or a complete event — so you can judge lighting and color consistency across the whole set, not just the best three shots.
2. Check for category-specific experience
Product photography, food photography, drone/real estate photography, and event or headshot photography all require different lighting, styling and equipment. A photographer with a strong wedding portfolio isn't automatically the right choice for a product catalog shoot — ask specifically for examples in your category.
3. Confirm usage rights before you book
Get clear, in writing, on whether you own full usage rights to the final images for your website, packaging, social media and paid advertising once the shoot is paid for. This avoids disputes later, especially for images used in print or branded packaging.
4. Ask about compression, watermarking and delivery format
Find out how images will be delivered — resolution, file format, and whether web-optimized versions are included alongside full-resolution originals. This matters if the images are going straight onto a website or delivery app, where oversized files slow everything down.
5. Typical pricing in Islamabad
- Product photography: usually quoted per SKU or per shoot day — scales with styling complexity.
- Food photography: priced per dish or per half/full day for a restaurant menu.
- Drone & real estate: quoted per property or per session.

Treat a quote that's dramatically below market average as a signal to ask more questions about equipment, styling, and what's actually included in the final delivery.
